Established in 2015, KALEIDOS is a curated concept shop with a focus around good vintage, good people, and good vibes. The name KALEIDOS comes from the desire to shine a light on the multifaceted kaleidoscope in us all—our different interests, strengths, vulnerabilities, and hobbies all meld together to create our beautiful and complex lives.

Visual Identity Rebrand
KALEIDOS is a curated concept shop based in Virginia, with an emphasis on circular and slow fashion. Since 2015, KALEIDOS’S founder, Amanda, has focused on bringing both indie designers and high quality vintage items to her audience, and providing them not only with a regionally unique shopping experience, but with opportunities to gather and meet likeminded people at community events.
Studio Studio was contracted to help Amanda evolve KALEIDOS’S old branding, and bring the visual voice up to speed with how her business has evolved over nearly a decade in business. KALEIDOS’S brand identity as a whole is a visualization of the key attributes identified at the beginning of the branding process: it is fluid, joyful, has a hand crafted quality, and is built on a flexible system to grow with KALEIDOS and shepherd it through the next phase of business.
As the name suggests, Kaleidos celebrates the multifaceted nature of people, and celebrates showing different facets of ourselves in a given moment or season of our lives. This fluidity is reflected in a visual brand that has the breadth to be both quiet and extremely expressive.
The color palette for Kaleidos is built from strong neutrals, with more sparing injections of vibrant color. Studio Studio created a pattern library of 900 shape variants for Amanda to experiment with, which help keep the visuals dynamic, playfulness, and engaging.
Brand typefaces are Pangram Pangram Migra, Futura, and Inconsolata. Logos use modified Good Type Foundry’s Opposit.
